Lonnie Mack Roadhouses and Dance Halls Album Review 07-17-2022

Alright Blues fans, we took last week off, so we are back with a vengeance this week. Off we go into the past once again, I bring you the greatness of Lonnie Mack, Roadhouses & Dance Halls, released in 1988. Overall an upbeat selection of tunes offering a fine selection of delta-country-blues, roadhouse grinders and of course blues. We kick it off with “Too Rock for Country, (Too Country for Rock-n-Roll)” a little something to take the edge off while you are downing your first of many Lone Stars. Now that you are primed and ready for the dance floor, here comes “Sexy Ways/Annie Had a Baby”,”Plain Jane (In A Mustang). Take a quick breather just in time for “Riding the Blinds”, a boppin’ Memphis-blues grinder to get you back on the dance floor. We finally slow it down for “Hard Life” a self-study of the life of a musician. Good tunes, great tone, good times, good heavens what more could you ask for?
