Well I was late in getting this week’s Blues Album, perhaps that was divine intervention. This week I bring you, The Rolling Stones “Let It Bleed”, this is obviously in honor of Charlie Watts, forever drummer for the Stones, who we lost today August 24, 2021. Released in December 1969, the eighth British and tenth American album from the band. What can I say? From the frenzied opener of “Gimme Shelter” to the closing tones of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”, it’s bluesy, tasteful Stones in all their glory. While you’re at it today, check out some of Charlie’s jazz albums. “Watts at Scotts”, “Tribute to Charlie Parker”, “Live at Fulham Town Hall”, just to name a few.
