Well now, it’s Blues Album of the Week time again. This week we bring you the unmistakable sounds of ZZ Top Tres Hombres (Expanded 2006 Remaster). What can I say that hasn’t already been said about the right Rev Willie G and the Boys. What a great album, from “Waitin of the Bus” to “Have you Heard”, it’s got it all, Dusty Hill’s high harmonies, Billy’s gravel voice, heavy on the bottom end sound, fantastic chops, killer tone. Just what July of 1973 needed. Obviously you have “La Grange” , “Waitin on the Bus / Jesus just left Chicago”, “Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers”. But how about some you may have forgotten like, the subtle “Hot, Blue and Righteous”, Rolling Stones flavored “Move Me on Down the Line” , and the one I had completely forgotten about, “Have You Heard?”, cool smooth vocals on top of Billy’s sweet tasty licks. Wow! Gotta like it. I have said this before and will probably say it a bunch more times, but. Listen again for the first time.
