Detroit Blues Band Can’t Get You off My Mind Album Review 10-31-2021

Good Morning and Happy Sunday to you all, I’m back on schedule this week, and we have yet another treat (get it? Halloween?). This week’s Blues album is the Detroit Blues Band, “Can’t Get You Off My Mind”. Released in 2005, 10 songs coming in at 51 minutes. The band has been working in and around the Detroit area since 1976, multiple incarnations, but excellent smooth Chicago blues. I found these guys on a YouTube blues playlist, very nice discovery. To my ears, sounds a 335 guitar, nice BB King overtones on a couple of tunes. Starts off with the kick and get it, “Sister’s Got a Lover”, finishes up with the title track “Can’t Get You Off My Mind”. Highlights include the always fun “Every Day I have the Blues”, “Tears From my Eyes”, “Missing You”, and “Tell Me”. Polished vocals and guitar work on all tracks make this a winner for me, plus it’s “local / regional” band that I get to promote here, which is always fun. Check these guys out you will enjoy.
