Gary Moore Blues Alive Album Review 10-17-2021

Okay here we go, grab your Les Paul, get yourself a wall of Marshalls, it’s Gary Moore time. Released in 1993 a collection of recordings from his 1992 tour. I first ran into Gary in 1979 with Thin Lizzy on their 1979 Black Rose tour. I remember thinking who’s that guy, that ain’t Brian Robertson, but boy can that dude play. “Blues Alive” is an excellent example of Gary’s tasteful soloing, impressive vocals, not to mention his impeccable tone. Speaking of tone, a guest appearance of one Albert Collins is a lovely treat on the song “Too Tired”. Some highlights “Walking by Myself”, “The Sky is Crying”, “Still Got The Blues”, “Oh, Pretty Woman”, and the always powerful “Parisenne Walkways”. This is one heck of a good album.
