Time to get your “ah how how how’s” going, let me introduce the Right Reverend Willie G! Yes sir it’s Billy F Gibbons and The Big Bad Blues. Released in September 2018. All the gritty grimy blues rock you’ve come to appreciate. None of the poppy schlock from some of the later “Top” albums, here we have Mr Gibbons in fine old school form, from nasally raspy vocals to his always impressive guitar work. There’s a bunch of good stuff here, I particularly like “Bring it to Jerome”, “Second Line”, “Mo’ Slower Blues” and “Hollywood 151”. Billy’s still got the chops to bring the blues home.
