Alright this weeks album is “Still” from Josh Smith, now what can be said about Josh that hasn’t been said, the man can flat out play guitar. I got to see Mr Smith a couple of years ago, wow, that tone, those chops. It was inspiring, inspiring me to burn all my guitars. We start off with the bluesy, jazzy “Charlie’s Ray”, this album has a bit for everyone, country blues jazz, is that even a term well I guess it is now. Fire up “Brown Gatton”, Josh’s ode to the late Danny Gatton, and just try to remain still. Some highlights include, “Skunk Tree”, “Shaolin Blue”, “Still”, I am trying not to just list all the songs because there isn’t a bad song in the collection. Check out “Still” from Josh Smith. You will absolutely dig it. Might even cause one to look more into Josh’s catalog.
