It has returned, yep it’s Blues album of the week time again. This week we have a scorcher, JT Coldfire Live. So, a couple of weeks ago I was perusing the Truefire facebook page and someone had posted about finding a JT Coldfire Cd at a used book store. They went on to say, A, how good this guy was, B, how had they not heard of him before. Needless to say, off to Mr Google I go, first thing I find out is unfortunately, that Mr Coldfire is no longer with us, bummer. Next off to amazon music where I find, of course it’s a live recording, JT Coldfire Live. Wow ! How did I miss this guy? JT is a burner. One of the reviews I read refer to him as Elvis / ZZ Top or maybe SRV / Hank Williams Jr. Interesting comparisons but yes you can hear those combos. JT passed in 2015 , looks like this was released in 2017. Highlights include , a smoldering version of “Have you ever Loved a Woman”, great medley of “Boogie Chillen, La Grange, and Baby Please Don’t Go”, “Blind” is an absolute barn burner. Check out JT, you will definitely like what you hear.
